Key Accountabilities:

  • Comply with and adhere to all HSEQ policies and other regulations;
  • Responsible for delivering projects safely, on time, within budget to the expected high quality;
  • Ensure all HSEQ policies and procedures are strictly adhered to by all people that come into contact with the site.
  • Responsible for the day to day running of the building site;
  • Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in accordance with all project requirements;
  • Preplanning as required to ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the project schedule;
  • Prepare short term programs in conjunction with the Project Manager to be able to control the progression of all construction activities adequately;
  • Liaise effectively with all stakeholders including but not limited to Company Directors, Clients, Contractors, Suppliers, Site staff, other company staff, Consultants, Authorities, Public and the like;
  • Responsible managing disputes and/or issues involving material, equipment and/or labour;
  • Support the Contract Administrator’s administration of RFI, SI, NOD/EOT, other Notices processes for the Head Contract, Subcontracts and other Agreements relevant to their projects;
  • Support the Contract Administrator and Project Manager in the sourcing of Subcontractor Quotations, negotiating and letting Subcontracts and other agreements;
  • Manage Contract, Material and / or Labour budgets, disputes and other requirements;
  • Support, monitor and control site teams to ensure they perform their roles as required;
  • Review documentation and ensure construction is carried out in strict accordance with same;
  • Chair site meetings and ensure minutes are prepared and distributed to all attendees and others as required

  • Chair meetings, prepare and distribute meeting minutes as required;
  • Prepare and/or contribute to, as required, PCG (Project Control Group) Meeting Reports and deliver same at PCG meetings, in accordance with the Client’s Requirements;
  • Contribute to the preparation of Project Performance Reports monthly for the Construction Director and other Senior Management;
  • Ensure payments and/or Payment Schedules are processed in a timely manner in accordance with Company Policies, SOPA and Subcontract Agreements;
  • Ensure all HSEQ requirements are clearly communicated to subcontractors and suppliers, and monitor timely provision of all associated paperwork including the receipt of the required HSEQ documentation for review (e.g. Safety Plans, SWMS, ITPs, (M) SDS, Insurances);
  • Support the development, approval, implementation and review of the ITP Matrix, Emergency Management Plan and site specific Induction Programme;
  • Ensure employees are adequately supervised and managed to achieve project deliverables, including time, cost and quality requirements;
  • Report hazardous and / or non-conforming situations to relevant parties; and
  • Monitor and control the implementation of the project’s ITP Matrix to ensure adequate Quality Controls in place and are effectively implemented;
