The City of Gold Coast is seeking an Electrician to join the Building Maintenance team who is responsible for electrical maintenance of lighting, pumps, power reticulation, electrical control systems and emergency power generation in Council's assets. At times related investigations and condition assessments may also be undertaken.
Key deliverables of the position:
- Undertake repairs and maintenance duties (hands-on)
- Complete all works within allotted timeframes.
- Ensure all electrical work undertaken is compliant with AS3000, Qld Electrical Safety Act & Regulations, Electrical Safety Act Codes of Practice and WH&S Act
- Assist in the development and training of apprentices
- Identify areas and actions within the planned maintenance scope that will improve the economic and operational life of plant and equipment.
- Participate in the After Hours on Call Roster
You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to influence a wide range of stakeholders on broad or complex issues. You're self-motivated and require limited supervision to 'get the job done right'. With a proven capacity to apply initiative, judgement and project management skills with the ability to contribute to projects, initiatives and resources effectively to achieve organisational goals and meet deadlines and commitments.
You have a track record of ensuring that all work is performed to meet quality, safety, environmental and legislative requirements.
