To Be Successful In This Role You Will Possess
- Trade qualifications to suit at least one of the below listed subjects and at the level of course being offered -
- Cert I - Construction
- Cert II - Furnishing
- Cert II - Engineering Pathways
- Cert III - Manufacturing
- Cert III - Boiler Making
- Cert III - Metal Fabrication
- Cert III - Carpentry
- Cert III - Carpentry and Joinery
- Industry specific knowledge and skills
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE40116 (The successful candidate will be supported to complete or upgrade to this qualification if they don't already possess it)
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Attention to detail
- The ability to build rapid rapport with students, school staff and industry to ensure successful outcomes for students
About The Ipswich SHS Trade Training Centre (TTC)

The IRTTC is a unique world-class education and industry training facility that has been awarded the highest performing RTO School in Queensland, with their programs offering a unique ‘real work' environment for Year 11 and 12 students who want to pursue a career in trades. The programs have been developed in partnership with The Department of Education Queensland, small and medium enterprise and local industry in the Ipswich region.
Delivering excellence in vocational training since 2014, the IRTTC houses eight independent practical training spaces that include: Fitting & Turning, Metal Fabrication, Civil Construction, General Construction, Horticulture and Furniture\Cabinet making workshops, two state of the art CADD labs and a fully functioning Beauty Salon with direct access to the public.
The ISHTTC has kept its focus firmly on employment opportunities for the future through the purchase of advanced manufacturing equipment in the form of CNC routers, CNC Plasma and Laser cutter\engraver. The CNC Router and Laser cutters are equipped with fourth axis drives capable of cutting or engraving cylindrical products in glass, timber, plastic or leather. This gives the student opportunities to design and produce 3D prototypes and have them brought to life through the push of a button on any one of the CNC machines.
The Vocational Trainer - Construction and Manufacturing position, will be based at the Ipswich Regional Trade Training Centre, within Ipswich SHS. The successful Trainer will be required to work in collaboration with the Principal, the HOD of Business Education/Vocational Training and the larger team of Teachers and VET Trainers who are industry professionals that deliver excellence in training for all their students across the range of the subjects offered. This is a full- time position that consists of 38 hours per week across 5 week days.
