Asset Manager Structures - Northam

This is a key role in managing Main Roads' regional bridge network and an exciting opportunity to work within the Main Roads Northam team in the Wheatbelt, only 1.5 hrs from Perth. This is a fixed term contract until Dec 2022, with a possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Structures Asset Management
  • Manage use of the Bridge Asset Management System and ensure the maintenance of structures asset data.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance and improvement of program development, bridge asset management and planning processes, standards and systems.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of the Ten Year Bridge Program and Annual Bridge Plan and monitor their implementation
  • Contract Management - Commission and manage consultants for the provision of technical services
  • Leadership and Management - Review and comment on policy standards and guidelines, provide specialist advice to regional staff on asset management principles and practice.
  • Stakeholder Relationships - Undertake consultation, liaison and negotiation with stakeholders (e.g. customers, the community, consultants, Local Government, other agencies and contractors) on bridge asset management programs, level of service and standards.
What You Will Bring To The Team
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum 8 yrs relevent experience
  • Experience in structures asset management, design, construction or maintenance and refurbishment
  • Experience in project management, including project estimating
  • Skills in managing employees, performance and development
  • Negotiation and facilitation skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Strong building and enhancing stakeholder relationships skills
  • Good written communication report writing skills
  • Experience in bridge works planning and programming
Asset Management Support Services
GHD has been appointed by Main Roads Western Australia to deliver a state-wide Operational Asset Management Support Service (AMSS) contract. Under this contract, GHD provide regional support to assist Main Roads manage and maintain the State road network
