Senior to Principal Structural Engineer

Due to the ongoing success of our Australian operations, our Transport Bridges and Structures team have a need for a Senior to Principal Structural Engineer to join our Adelaide team.
Position purpose: Delivering a variety of civil infrastructure projects for our South Australian clients and support the Bridges and Structures Team on a national level where special skills are required. The role is technical focused and will also require a good understanding of project management elements to be able to lead small design teams independently.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Lead and undertake structural engineering tasks on projects of varying complexity and size, including bridges, underground structures, stations and/or retaining walls etc.
- Provide technical direction and review of work performed by other members of the team.
- Provide technical review of engineering drawings and reports.
- Promote and contribute to a culture of technical excellence within the team.
- Effectively anticipate and exceed client needs and encourage client focus in colleagues including coordination with other disciplines.
- Proactively maintain effective networks and relevant industry relationships to gain cooperation in meeting business and client outcomes.
- Manage project quality and risk management systems.
- Understanding of contracts and commercials as related to project delivery.
- Mentoring in technical, project delivery and client relationship topics.
- Provide input into pursuits and proposals.
- Comply with all role specific SHEQ obligations.
- Promote the continual improvement of best practice OHS&E and Quality systems and behaviours.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Chartered status CPENG or equivalent (or a commitment to attain this level within the first 6-12 months).
- Typically, 10+ years’ experience.
- Demonstrated competence in providing technical expertise across a broad range of transport projects.
- Competent in managing projects of varying complexity and size.
- Competent in managing risk and safety in design processes.
- Strong experience in client relationships.
- Demonstrated multiple instances of delivering best client outcomes/options which have saved the client costs/time.
- Experienced in bidding and winning work.
