JOB DESCRIPTION

Description

The Service Engineer must be able to perform complex and technically demanding support of Elekta linear accelerators. The position requires a professional representation between the customer and the company in all aspects of customer relations.

Responsibilities

  • Customer support representative in the Perth, WA region for the Service of Linear Accelerators.
  • Provide phone and email support, technical advice & "Help Desk" support as appropriate
  • Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose issues with software and hardware interfaces, including DICOM connectivity and transfer
  • Familiarity with Microsoft server/workstation operating systems.
  • Work on "complex problems" where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and past Elekta Software products
  • Able to complete all Technician Responsibilities with 100% accuracy.
  • Independently perform routine troubleshooting and repairs on the designated modality with a 95% success rate of diagnosing the problem while working within the escalation procedure.
  • Perform routine calibrations and preventative maintenance on their designated modality and secondary modality.
  • Co-ordinate Planned Maintenance for Customers.
  • Work safely in confined areas, including high current/ high voltages modulators (20- 50 kV, 1500A),
  • Work safely on Elekta's full range of products including medical devices producing high-energy ionizing radiation.
  • Read, analyse, interpret and follow signal flow on blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Instruct customers and staff in the proper use of the equipment.
  • Stay current on all new products.
  • Submit timely and accurately; service reports, timesheets, expense reports, TLD badges and other paper work as assigned.
  • Parts inventory management
  • Maintain all company-leased equipment, including company computer, parts, and tools.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Incorporates Elekta Values into all department functions and responsibilities.
  • Adhere to all Elekta directives, policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience preferably in Electronics, Physics or an associated discipline.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of Elekta Linac field service experience and strong capability in practice or on similar modalities.
  • Posses a good electro-mechanical aptitude.
  • Good technical/analytical skills in the area of PC/Network Computing and Operating systems.
  • Proficiency in the use of test equipment and hand tools including oscilloscopes, multi-meters.
  • A good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice, including ESD requirements.
  • Must have excellent skills in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to represent the organization in a professional and positive manner.
  • Ability to organize and prepare reports.
  • Be a self-motivated worker, able to interact and communicate well with all levels of the business
  • Fluent English skills for both oral and written communication purposes
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally when required and work independently.
  • Must maintain an active driver's license
