As a Workshop Manager, your role is integral to Ampcontrol’s continued success.

As a Workshop Manager, you get the chance to not only get hands on in the mining industry but also pave the way for our employees to make their mark for Ampcontrol. This role has responsibility for the day to day operation and supervision of the cables workshop, with a focus on providing exceptional service to our mining and industrial customers.


As a Workshop Manager in our Cables Services Operation at Moranbah, you will be integral in the successful day to day coordination of our workshop whilst being an important customer contact and leader to our team. You will find yourself contributing to the growth of our service provision throughout the region at a pivotal time in Ampcontrol’s history. Your attention to detail, pride in your work and ability to streamline processes will help set the benchmark for the rest of the industry to follow.

You will be required to provide development advice for production and repair, with the ability to set timelines and stick to budget requirements for any given project.

Typical duties include:
Overseeing production to ensure quality and service meets company and customer standards and requirements
Review and resolve operational processes to ensure cost efficiency and prevent production delay
Engage, manage and develop team to deliver work schedule
Delivery of key project milestones to achieve budgeted outcomes
Promote and develop employee competencies, OHS awareness and practices

Your willingness to gets hands on in a manufacturing environment will be complemented by the following:

Previous experience (minimum 2 years) coordinating and supervising a team of electricians including addressing performance issues
Demonstrated experience in resolving both technical and people management issues
Safety as a core value
Proven experience leading a team in the delivery of jobs in line with customer requirements
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office applications including Project and Excel


Electrical trade qualifications (desirable)
