Heavy Diesel Mechanic – Multiple Locations Available

Drake are looking for Qualified Diesel Mechanics on behalf of our client who is a major player in Victorias public transport sector. We have multiple roles across multiple locations in North Fitzroy, Doncaster and Thomastown. Please note, these roles are fixed term roles for 6 months. This may be reviewed at the end of the six-month period.

About the Role:

The successful applicant will be accountable for ensuring all vehicles are maintained in a safe, reliable, and roadworthy condition at all times in accordance with relevant acts, regulations, company policies and procedures and Maintenance Management System.

Other responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

Perform mechanical duties, servicing, repairs, maintenance and road test, as well as any small body or electrical repairs as required

Carry out vehicle servicing

Assist in part stock control and ordering

Carry out vehicle under carriage and engine washing as required

Skills and Experience Required:

Relevant Qualification and experience; Heavy Vehicle Diesel Motor Mechanic trade certificate

HR Drivers licence and previous experience transporting such vehicles.

Possess a high level of diagnostic ability / experience

Ability to work as part of a team and also autonomously

Effective customer service skills

Ability to maintain effective working relationships

Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Ability to continue improvement of working relationships and reliability through open and effective communications

A forklift licence is highly desirable but not essential for this role.
