JOB DESCRIPTION

Round Oak Minerals (Round Oak) is an owner operator emerging base and precious metals producer with a number of Australian based mining and processing operations. 

Round Oak are now recruiting an experienced Fixed Plant Maintenance Leading Hand at our Jaguar Mine operation, based in Jaguar (north of Leonora, WA) on an 14:7 roster, FIFO Perth.

The Role

This role reports to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor. This role is responsible for leading the day to day maintenance of the Fixed Plant Maintenance team & assisting in the supervision of all Fixed Plant maintenance personnel.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Planning team, Maintenance management, Mining management team and Processing management team on daily/weekly and monthly schedules
  • Liaise with Electricians & Mobile Plant Supervisors, Leading hands / team for servicing and repairs of equipment
  • Actively work to minimise equipment downtime in a timely manner and ensuring high quality work standards and practices are adhered to
  • Communicate with Supervisors and Planners on the progress of planned tasks in line with the weekly schedule
  • Raise purchase orders and obtain quotations to plan projects from initial stages to completion
  • Perform any planned maintenance including breakdown repairs as directed
  • Actively participate in prestart meetings and ensuring weekly scheduled work is completed
  • Promote a safe working culture with the team including reviewing and approval of JSEA’s
  • Take ownership for the Mechanical Fixed Plant team’s maintenance strategy and support team to achieve common objectives

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Mechanical trade (Engineering Tradesperson Mechanical)
  • Understanding of general mining, processing plant operations and underground dewatering infrastructure
  • 5+ years Processing Plant maintenance experience
  • Relevant qualifications including High risk work licenses (EWP, LF, DG, CN, RB), Working at heights, Confined space, Poly welding & first aid
  • Computer literacy with strong Microsoft Office Suite and Pronto experience
  • Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Requirements within a mining environment
  • Certificate IV in frontline management (desirable)
  • Previous experience is highly regarded
