Job Description
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join our busy steel manufacturing plant at Salisbury. Reporting to the Mechanical Team Leader and working in conjunction with an Electrician, you will be responsible for the provision of effective maintenance support to the production process.
This role works a 7 week roster, 4 weeks 4 on 4 off, 2 weeks on dayshift (6am to 2pm) and 1 week on afternoon shift (2pm to 10pm).
As the successful candidate, you will need to be an experienced industrial fitter/welder with a sense of urgency, a can-do attitude and a strong drive to assist with production improvements. In return we offer a position that will see you become an active participant in reliability, continuous improvement, minor projects, root cause analysis and preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Driving output improvements in liaison with production teams;
- Ensuring a timely response to breakdowns;
- Planning and organisation for shutdowns; and
- Have s strong safety focus.
- Sound knowledge of fitting, turning, milling;
- Sound knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics;
- Computer literate – MS Office;
- Good organisation skills and have the ability to prioritise;
- Have a proactive approach and demonstrate initiative; and
- Strong and clear communication skills coupled with team work.
