Design and Build have partnered with a local steel detailing and drafting organisation, delivering efficient and cost-effective detailing solutions to a variety of exciting projects across the industrial, commercial and institution sectors.

We are seeking an experienced Structural steel draftsperson and shop detailer to join the design team in Melbourne.

You will have demonstrated experience in steel framed drafting, designing, and detailing. You will be preparing relevant design documentation and shop drawings. You are experienced and confident to work autonomously as you’ll be required to hit the ground running. Fr the right person you’ll have the opportunity to take on leadership roles and contribute to the growth of the business.

Day to day activities will include

• Prepare design shop fabrication drawings to industry standards for various structures
• Support and collaborate with highly skilled designers and engineers to develop shop details for a wide range structures
• Coordinate and review shop detailing packages
• Liaise with a variety of stakeholders including builders, architects, council, and other disciplines
• Be involved in developing quality assurance engineering strategies in order to ensure safe and reliable operations and meet regulatory requirements

The successful candidates will have:

• 5 + years in a similar position
• Relevant and recognised qualifications in structural engineering or design
• High level proficiency using Advanced Steel software
• Working knowledge of NASH AS 2010, AS/NZS1170, AS/NZS2312 & AS4100.
• Demonstrated experience in a steel detailing environment
• Demonstrated experience working with and communicating to a wide range of stakeholders
