How will you make an impact?
From supporting our customers, creating the best possible customer experience through technical service, installation, operator training and repair of our life science with our life science instrumentation. It will support our growing base of COVID testing labs and our drive into the clinical and diagnostic testing markets. Ideal for a fast learner and anyone with interest in automation.

What will you do?

  • Provide onsite scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs of Life Technologies instruments in NSW and other areas as required.
  • Undertake product installation and operator training onsite in Sydney and overseas initially as required.
  • Provide training and technical advice on instrument use, both in person and by telephone.
  • Proactively resolve difficult repairs by using Life Technologies Service Escalation process and liaising with APJ and Global Service Specialists.
  • Proactively manage personal stock of spare parts and follows all reporting responsibilities of Remote Service Dispatch (RSD), Escalation, Field Problem Report (FPR) and Field Service Report (FSR) submissions and completes paperwork, logging of service orders and expenses in a timely manner.
  • Perform in accordance to regulations all relevant certification procedures, such as NATA, ISO certifications.
  • Interacts with customers to offer and close the sale of service contracts and other service products.
  • Discuss Life Technologies Service Products with customers and provide leads to Australasia Service Sales Rep as they arise.
  • Be available to assist with after-hours work, shift work, on-call weekends if required. Penalty rates apply to out of hours work.
How will you get here?
Education
  • Tertiary qualification in an Engineering discipline such as electronics or electrical studies would be considered an advantage also.
  • Appropriate electrical safety certification
Experience
  • 3 + years of directly related experience from the qualifications above.
  • Experience in a clinical, diagnostics or regulated environment.
  • Aptitude for learning IT processes and systems.
  • Experience with automation and robotics would be an advantage.
  • Track record of operating successfully within an environment focused on high performance and high levels of intensity.
  • Experience in working in a global and matrix organisation with a decentralised model (preferred).
