About the role:

An exciting opportunity exists at our Townsville Processing Plant for a Maintenance Foreperson. We are seeking a passionate and energetic individual who is committed to providing an effective professional service. This hands-on role has the responsibility to ensure the availability of the plant and equipment through the supervision of maintenance and repair teams focused on process preparation and support, breakdown response, fault finding and repair, basic maintenance and repair, equipment condition and performance monitoring and reporting.


  • Daily Supervision of a team of Maintenance fitters & electricians
  • Ensure immediate reaction to breakdowns and urgent work
  • Monitor plant maintenance activities to ensure priorities are met
  • Liaise with operations personnel to ensure a high degree of availability of plant and equipment
  • Take a proactive role in understanding the root causes of downtime and designing and implementing engineering solutions to eliminate those causes
  • Assist the Plant Engineer with all aspects of running the engineering and maintenance operations
  • Manage allocated projects from implementation to completion
  • Ensure safe systems of work are followed in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.


  • Qualified electrical tradesperson with Queensland license
  • Experience with PLC systems and SAP considered essential
  • Experience in maintenance supervision or management
  • Ability to plan, organise and control maintenance front line activities to optimise the use of available resources
  • A thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate staff
  • Understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures
  • Effective problem solving ability
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.

Must have current Australian work rights.
