Our Opportunity

We are seeking a trade qualified Production Superintendent ideally with a mechanical/structural background to join our team at Garden Island. In this role you will partner with Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and Production teams across a range of naval and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

This diverse role will have you involved in:

  • The operational control of projects including stakeholder and subcontractor management, overseeing material and plant, job estimation and costing resolution, and safety
  • Managing and co-ordinating Supervisors and Sub-Contractors both on and off site to ensure completion of work
  • Providing regular progress reports to Managers/Project managers
  • Ensuring staffing levels, equipment and resources are available to meet the plan
  • Reviewing and analysing progress reports and ensuring they are provided to the scheduler on a weekly basis
  • Inspecting the physical work to ensure compliance with set quality and technical standards.

About You

You possess the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

  • Mechanical trade qualification
  • Team leadership experience
  • The ability to read and understand manufacturer’s data, drawings, and maintenance schedules
  • Experience in the costing and preparation of technical proposals.
  • Sound knowledge of financial and purchasing processes.
  • Advanced level of skill with Microsoft applications particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Special Requirements

The position is dependent on the candidate eligibility to obtain a Defence Security Clearance.

You will also need to successfully clear a pre-employment medical and police check.
