Master Butchers Co-Operative Ltd is a diverse business with three locations and over 100 employees.

MBL Proteins is a division of Master Butchers Co-operative Limited and operates recycling plants across two sites in South Australia. MBL Proteins takes organic by product material (such as offal) from the meat, poultry and seafood industries and process it into tallow and meat meal.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Fitter to work at Keith, SA. It could be a Drive-In and Drive-Out position. The successful candidate is expected to work 4 days and off 3 days per week.

You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, breakdown, and repair work (essential) and a range of corrective maintenance/projects.

About the role:

  • Attend to breakdown, repair and preventative maintenance activities for Production machinery and site equipment.
  • Identify the route cause analysis and fault findings.
  • Implementing repair actions to minimise downtime, improve reliability and maximise the overall efficiency.
  • Fabricate a variety of equipment for Production.
  • Recalibrating instruments, oiling, cleaning and maintaining site equipment.
  • Complete paperwork.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts.
  • Perform all duties with a huge focus to improve the quality of the product.
  • Other duties as required.

The right person for the role:

  • Ability to work with raw material that produces strong smells.
  • Experience in the meat or poultry manufacturing industry.
  • Experienced welder, maintenance fitter or fabricator.
  • Mechanical or Electrical trade credentials preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrate competencies with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, welding, hand tools, pro-active attitude towards preventative maintenance programs.
  • Ability to conduct break-down repairs and maintenance on plant and equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, identify and solve problems.
  • Be attentive, organised and display a high level of attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to Workplace Health & Safety.
