About the role:

Leading the Construction Team for the Rookwood Weir Project, the Construction Manager has primary responsibility for the control and coordination of all construction activities. The key responsibilities of the Construction Manager are to ensure that the Project is completed to the client’s satisfaction, while also meeting the Alliance and industry requirements in relation to work health and safety, environment, quality, time and profit objectives.

As a member of the Alliance Management Team, the Construction Manager will work closely with the Alliance Manager to provide strategic support in the delivery of the Project.

The Construction Manager will provide support to the project team on all contract deliverables, ensuring that the Head Contract is administered with best practice outcomes across the entire project life-cycle. The Construction Manager is expected to professionally manage cost and value, and mitigate commercial threats whilst assisting in maintaining Client / Alliance relationships and interests. Stakeholder management, coaching and mentoring project personnel and driving performance are integral to achieving success.

To be successful in this role:

  • 15+ years’ construction industry experience and 3 years in a similar role
  • 5 – 10 years’ Dam or Weir construction experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
  • Professionally qualified or ideally working towards relevant professional institute membership, such as the Registered Professional Engineers Queensland (RPEQ) or equivalent
  • Act with professionalism and display resilience and positivity
  • Drive innovation and effectiveness
  • Drive project performance, including management of team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
  • Deliver quality outputs and accountable for quality management
  • Strong commitment to safety and sustainability 
  • High level of technical expertise in engineering and construction
