About the Role

We seek an exceptional Construction Manager - with industrial construction, civil, environmental remediation and demolition experience to join our Western Australia team.

Reporting to the Divisional Manager, your main responsibilities will be to manage high profile demolition / decommissioning, industrial construction, civil, environmental / remediation projects, and work closely with Senior Management and the project team, to ensure high quality project delivery outcomes.

This opportunity will provide experience working on a range of sites involving: industrial construction, large-scale environmental remediation, civil works (contaminated soils), bulk and detailed earthworks, structural deconstruction, mechanical demolition and felling of structures.

Key Responsibilities

· Work closely with the Project Team in order to ensure compliance with Client and McMahon Services' processes and requirements;

· Effective and clear communication;

· Positive relationship building with clients, project teams and management;

· Contract compliance;

· Manage cost control including preparation of progress claims, variations and project budgets;

· Capable of estimating;

· Undertake appropriate investigations, inspections, and methodology development;

· Assist with program development including tracking and reporting of project progress;

· Compliance with contract terms and conditions for all projects;

· Problem solving and innovation as an individual and as part of a team;

· Ability to follow guidance and directions;

· Ability to work away as required;

· A team player with demonstrated superior written and verbal communication skills;

· Ability to cope with urgency, efficiently assign work priorities and work in a high-pressure environment; and

· Assist with the preparation and population of Quality Assurance documentation.

Skills and Qualifications

· Mining and Construction Industry experience essential;

· Demolition of Industrial and Mining structures experience essential;

· The ability to work autonomously and work well under pressure;

· Experienced in contract negotiating;

· Proficient use of Microsoft Projects and Excel essential;

· Structural / Mechanical background preferred; and

· Proficient use of Microsoft Project.

You must also have the ability to follow directions and innovatively problem solve as an individual and as part of the team.

Salary: $140,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Mining: 5 years (Preferred)
  • project management: 5 years (Preferred)

Work Eligibility:

  • Permitted to work permanently with no restriction on hours (e.g. citizen, permanent resident) (Required)

Job Duties:

  • Consult blueprints, designs, and client instructions to develop construction plans for the team
  • Manage construction sites, ensuring that workers adhere to construction plans and safety codes
  • Work with key stakeholders (e.g. owners, developers, contractors) to ensure project completion within budget and deadlines
  • Liaise with local authorities to submit plans and arrange inspections
  • Other duties as requested
