AAA Asphalt Surfaces has over 25 years of experience in the asphalt industry and is wholly owned and operating in Western Australia. We offer a fully experienced asphalt paving crew that specialises in remote work. Our regional operation has extensive experience in mobilising to remote areas and completing the most challenging projects working with clients in different industries such as MRWA, mining companies and shires. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality work and exceptional service to our clients.
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Civil Construction Trainee to join our busy team. Ideally, we are seeking someone flexible due to the roster and various sites you will be working on. This is a great opportunity to gain comprehensive on the job training.
Duties include but are not excluding:
· Hand spread asphalt
· Safely handle bituminous materials
· Compact asphalt with rollers
· Conduct asphalt paver operations
· Assisting the asphalt crew as required
· Learning to prepare, select and apply screed
· Operation of mobile plant/equipment safely and efficiently
· Successful completion of the requirements of the Certificate III in Civil Construction
This is a full-time traineeship to be completed over a 24-month period.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
· A genuine interest in working in the civil construction industry
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
· Trustworthiness, punctuality, and reliability
· Willingness to learn and able to take on instructions
· Basic computer skills
· Hold a current driver’s license
· A White Card (or willing to obtain one)
· The availability to perform overtime if required
· The ability to contribute to the team effectiveness
