The Role

This is an exciting time to join this expanding division in Toll. Ongoing training plus career opportunities within the Toll Group. We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for our Dry Creek Workshop site on a 2 week on and 1 week off roster.

  • Great location in Adelaide
  • Lifestyle balanced roster currently 2 weeks on and 1 week off, Consists of:
    • 1 week of day shift 6.00am to 6.00pm
    • 1 week of night shift 6.00pm to 6.00am
    • 1 week off
  • 12 hour shifts
  • $50.59 per hour (flat rate) = $141,000 + superannuation
  • Wages paid weekly including week off
  • 14.5% superannuation

As a qualified diesel mechanic, you will bring your extensive experience in servicing and repairs to our fleet, including: Mercedes Benz, Kenworth, Volvo, Isuzu, Fuso, Hino and Freightliner and Multiple trailer Manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosis, repair and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, diesel systems, auto electrical, air conditioning (if licenced) & hydraulic repairs in accordance with requirements detailed on job cards
  • All general servicing tasks
  • Coaching, mentoring & training of Apprentices, Trades Assistants, Work Experience etc.
  • Maintain quality and urgency in the work preformed
  • Operate in compliance to the NHVAS scheme
  • Always maintain a high degree of safety in-line with HSE policies + procedures

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work a 2 and 1 rotating roster to facilitate our 24/7 workshop operation
  • Possess a Trade Qualification as a Heavy vehicle Diesel Mechanic minimum certificate (III)
  • Basic Welding competencies (advantage)
  • Experience in Tanker Trailers (advantage)
  • Demonstrated ability working within a fast-paced environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous diagnostic investigation experience
  • Be a team player, open and honest who consistently delivers an exceptional customer service experience
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Hold a flexible approach to business commitments
  • A proven commitment to working safely and compliance with all site safety standards.
  • A pro-active approach to safety to yourself and others
