Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Counterbalance forklift operation
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Understanding and experience with different size and weight freight
• Stacking and strapping various freight
• Manual handling up to 20 Kgs
• Efficiently load and unload general freight, ensure correct weight distribution and work to achieve a high level of consolidation
• Following strict OH&S policies and participating in safety toolboxes
• Experience within the transport industry is necessary

Description

Our client is seeking an experienced forklift driver to join their team in Altona North. They are looking for a candidate that is willing and able to work full-time hours. Current requirements are Monday to Friday 6am - 4pm, with flexibility to extend when required.

This candidate must have experience with loading and unloading trucks with general freight.

Most of the day will be spent on the forklift however the right candidate will be flexible with manual handling tasks and experienced with strapping and gating tautliners.

Our client is looking for someone who is physically fit and healthy and a good culture fit for their growing company.

This may also turn into a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.

Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Strong counterbalance forklift experience
• Previous experience loading and unloading trucks
• Confidence in OH&S policies and procedures
• Ability to work well in a team
• Willingness to complete manual handling up to 20kgs
• Able to pass police chek and medical assessments including drug & alcohol screening
