As The Successful Candidate, You Will

  • Assist the Lead Structural Engineer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost and schedule
  • Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D CAD software as required extracted from 3D models
  • Perform conceptual layout work under the supervision of the Lead Structural Engineer
  • Develop detailed design and production of structural drawings encompassing all aspects of a mine underground and surface facilities in accordance with relevant standards and project requirements
  • Equipment and layout capabilities for studies, feasibilities and final design
  • Timely completion of drawings and schedules
  • Adherence to project manhour budgets
  • Adherence to company Standards and Procedures
  • Check drawings prior to release
  • Participation in formal engineering review processes
  • Maintain coordination with designers and engineers within the disciplines
  • Incorporate safety in design.


You Will Bring To The Role
  • Engineering diploma (N Dip) or equivalent (Civils/structural)
  • Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to the design and systems related to the project, with emphasis on mining projects
  • Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software packages such as Bentley MicroStation Structural Packages
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good safety awareness
  • Understanding of other discipline requirements
  • Ability to work unsupervised, focus on task completion, initiative
  • Quick and accurate with methodical approach to allocated work areas
  • Should be able to operate comfortably in a team environment
