Our client is a leading supplier and service provider of specialist lifting and rigging solutions for the energy, resources, manufacturing, defence and construction industries.

We have many positions available for experienced Crane Services Technician to join in OD and Metro for ongoing work.

The Crane Services Technician will inspect, repair, service and operate overhead cranes and hoists, in accordance with Australian Standards.

There are 4 roles available 2 @ OD and 2 in Metro SA.

OD - You would be Adelaide based but required to work in a fly in fly out capacity (FIFO) at Roxby Downs. Required to work an 8 days on 6 days off roster, 10-12 hour days. Whilst at site, you would stay in shared accommodation with other staff PAID.

If you are an experienced technician with an electrical trade background, have a strong work ethic with high value on safety and process, you could be the person we are looking for.

If you have had leadership experience, this role would also allow you to act in a leadership capacity from time to time.

This role is ideal for a process and safety focused individual who can work in a heavy industrial and high risk environment and be able to work away from home for the periods of the roster.

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Fault finding diagnosis on overhead cranes and hoists
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on electrical equipment
  • Ensure that the inspection and servicing for overhead cranes or hoists are properly documented in line with relevant standards and Nobles’ procedures
  • Visual inspection and testing of general lifting and rigging equipment
  • Liaise with customers to assist their specific needs

To be successful in this role you will require:
  • Construction Induction Card
  • High risk licence – Dogging and Basic Rigging (Desirable)
  • EWP operator yellow card (scissor lift and boom lift)
  • High Risk Licence – Boom Lift (Desirable)
  • Current unrestricted electrical licence
  • Current unrestricted driving licence
  • In-depth experience and knowledge with the repair, maintenance and electrical assembly of heavy industrial machinery (mechanical aptitude, electrical control systems)
  • Knowledge and experience working with Quality and HSE systems, legislation and standards.
  • Initiative and sound judgement
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills
  • High level organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure within tight time constraints
  • High level of skill with IT systems and interfaces
  • Knowledge of standards and legislation relating to lifting equipment
  • Working knowledge of safety systems and processes on mine sites, is advantageous
