Minjar Gold is a privately owned Australian gold explorer, developer and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in both Western Australia and Queensland. With its flagship project located at Marvel Loch, the company holds a tenement package in excess of 1,400km2 with significant exploration potential and a gold processing facility. Due to growth, we are currently searching for an experienced Fixed Plant Mechanical Fitter to join us on a fulltime basis.

The role is available on an 8/6 roster, on a bus in, bus out (BIBO) basis from Perth.

About the role:
Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, your key responsibilities will be to assist in performing day to day preventative maintenance, installation and construction tasks associated with the mechanical maintenance of the gold plant at our Southern Cross operations. This includes maintenance and repairs on all fixed plant including: sag/ball mill, cone & Jaw crushers, feeders, conveyors, gearboxes, submersible, centrifugal, sump and slurry pumps.

About you:
The successful candidate will have a Mechanical Trade Certificate with a minimum of three years working on a gold processing plant with previous experience with pumps and crusher rebuilds, and proficiency with processing plant preventative maintenance programs and systems. Your capacity to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners and your proven ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, will be key to driving successful outcomes as part of this closely knit, high performing group.

Skills and qualifications must include:
  • Hazard identification and risk assessment
  • Current WA manual driver's licence
  • Mechanical trade certificate
  • Working at Heights ticket
  • Crane ticket
  • Dogging or basic rigging
  • Confined space ticket
  • Welding experience and certification (desirable)
  • EWP certification
  • Strong safety awareness
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good verbal and written ability
  • Self motivated and well organised
  • Good time management skills
  • Participate in rotational night shift and call out as required
