We are seeking an enthusiastic Electrician to join our team in Karratha. Ongoing training and development opportunities available.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

 
     
  • High Risk Work License - forklift 
  •  
  • Trade Certificate - electrical
  •  
  • Working at Heights & Confined Spaces (obtained within 2 years) (Advantageous)
  •  
  • Gas Test Atmospheres / BA (Advantageous)
  •  
  • Other relevant trade and industry specific tickets
  •  
  • Strong commitment to Workplace Health & Safety with prior experience with various risk assessments (JSEA’s & HAZOP)
  •  
  • 3 - 4 years in a related industry, preferably Oil & Gas
  •  
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  •  
  • Ability to work independently with good initiative
  •  
  • Leadership skills with supervisory experience managing junior fixed plant operators
  •  
  • Prior experience within a mercury process plant environment 
  •  
  • Prior experience in operating thermal desorption and high temperature treatment process technology
  •  
  • Ability to read and interpret various engineering documentation (P&ID’s, wiring diagrams, flow sheets, general arrangement drawings, heat and mass balance equations)
  •  
  • Prior experience in troubleshooting electrical issues (including SIL rated devices)
  •  
  • Experience in reviewing blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and electrical methods of operation
  •  
  • Competency in selecting, cutting and connecting wire and cable to terminals and connectors
  •  
  • Ability to use electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults
  •  
  • Experience in repairing and replacing faulty wiring and defective parts
  •  
  • Connecting electrical systems to power supply and testing continuity of circuits
  •  
  • Hazardous chemicals experience (mercury, caustic, hydrocarbons)
  •  
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance (electrical, environmental & dangerous goods storage)
  •  
  • Understanding and experience in sampling, sample preparation and laboratory analysis of mercury contaminated materials
  •  
  • Industrial Services experience including exposure to high pressure water jetting, pumping and vacuum operations
