Workshop Technician & Road Service Technician

Our Client

Our client is one of Australia's largest providers of material handling and access equipment providing sales, hire and service for the construction and warehousing industries. This company has a range of specialised services from service and repairs, spare parts to operator training. A one-stop provider for material handling and access needs.

The Roles

The Road Service Technician and the Workshop Technician are responsible for carrying out a range of maintenance services including planned maintenance, repairs, overhauls and modifications to various types of Forklifts or Access Equipment in accordance with the Customer's requirements, the Company's and manufactures guidelines and procedures and the relevant Australian Standards.

Primary Responsibilities

Carry out instructions and work unsupervised Examine detailed requests or specifications to carry out jobs, material and equipment requirements Read and follow electrical schematics for diagnosing purpose Read and follow hydraulic schematics for diagnosing purpose Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, and their repairs or sub-assemblies Carry out hydraulic diagnosis, repair including the resealing of cylinders, pumps, motors, valves and replacements of components Carry out machine function and safety checks as per manufacturers' specification Carry out periodic maintenance to various types of Forklifts and Access Equipment Maintain a clean and safe work station Carry out Off Hire Checks Carry out Pre Delivery Inspections to new machines Carry out a basic engine servicing Carry out mechanical repairs Carry out electrical diagnosis, repair and replacement of components Fit and assemble metal parts, tools or sub-assemblies Carry out fabrication work including welding, drilling, grinding, bending and cutting of threads Fabricate hydraulic hoses Dismantle faulty components and assemblies and repair or replace defective parts Carry out Major Inspections to 10 and 5 year old machines Set up and/or operate hand and machine tooling and equipment Compile fault lists on machines Carry out machine stability testing Qualifications/Experience

Trade certificate (or verification/demonstration of competency and other qualifications) Experience in Forklifts and/or Access Equipment (Preferable) Physically Fit Strong work ethic Able to work as part of a team Able to work independently Must be reliable and punctual Ability to speak read and write in English clearly Good attention to detail
