As an Electrical Leading Hand in our WA Operations workshop, based in Welshpool, you will have responsibility for organising and coaching production staff, scheduling workloads and coordinating materials in the department to ensure product is delivered on time and completed to budget.

The Electrical Leading Hand will also play a key role in promoting and developing staff competencies, OHS good practice, and improving quality.

What You'll Do

Your day to day role will involve:

  • Supervision of a small team of personnel allocated to a job to ensure it is completed on time and to specification
  • Check and approve daily time sheets
  • Plan allocated job in consultation with production coordinator, purchasing and stores
  • Check completed work against job cards specifications
  • On the job involvement, layout, assembly, commissioning, overhaul, inspection and wiring of projects when required
  • Assist in completing non-conformance reports where required
  • Carry out repairs and fault finding of electrical installations
  • Promote and maintain quality management systems and activities that ensure compliance with certifications (eg ISO9001:2008) as appropriate
  • Ensure adherence to and assist in the ongoing health and safety of all employees, protection of the environment and the ongoing quality of manufactured product and services


The successful applicant will demonstrate the following skills and behaviours:
  • Electrical trade qualifications
  • Electrical Supervisors Certificate
  • Competence in Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Previous experience in leading a multi-disciplined team
  • Demonstrated culture of safety as a core value
  • Proven success supervising a team and the ability to lead, motivate and coordinate
  • Excellent communication, job management and leadership skills
  • Self-motivation and flexibility to meet deadlines, operational changes and customer requirements
  • Demonstrated capability in managing risk and WHS requirements
