Job Description

Our engineering business has been strengthened through the acquisitions of Lendlease Engineering and the Geotech Group positioning ACCIONA as a leading provider of engineering services within the infrastructure sector. We provide services to public and private clients with a focus on Roads, Bridges and Tunnels, Rail and Civil Infrastructure projects.

ACCIONA is now looking for a HD Mechanic based in Port Melbourne and reporting to the Workshop Manager. The HD Mechanic will to coordinate, supervise and/or conduct services, repairs and/or maintenance to the plant & equipment of the Geotech Group; predominantly our piling rigs. As the HD Mechanic, you must ensure that all plant & equipment under your control is serviced and maintained in good working order and available for use on site when required

Your key objectives are, but not limited to:

  • Source and purchase parts and supplies necessary for the efficient operation of plant & equipment, including critical spares.
  • Liaise with the Operations Managers and the Workshop Manager to schedule major overhauls of piling rig equipment, as well as scheduled servicing of plant & equipment and light vehicles
  • Respond to plant & equipment breakdowns and carry out repairs, either in the Workshop or onsite as the situation demands
  • Organise routine workshop repairs and/or maintenance
  • Audit and/or inspect damaged plant & equipment and back-charge repairs to projects where appropriate
  • Perform other duties as reasonably directed.
Required Skills and Competencies

To be successful in this role you will be a qualified Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic. In addition if you possess a Rail Industry Worker Card and a Construction Induction Card your application will be highly desirable. To be the preferred candidate you have an extensive experience working on various earthmoving and construction equipment, including piling rigs, drilling rigs, excavators, loaders, bobcats, trucks and light vehicles.
