JOB DESCRIPTION

Business Overview:

We are a horticultural business located in regional Western Australia, operating a vertically integrated supply chain network from farm to consumer. The business produces a variety of different fruit that is supplied into retail outlets throughout Australia. In combination with an intensive fruit growing operation we also operate a large controlled plant / seedling nursery, packing shed and distribution facility. The operation is spread over several geographical locations from Pemberton to Waroona.

We are now seeking an applicant for the following roles:

  • forklift drivers

Minimum education & training requirements:

Forklift Driver

  • At least relevant AQF Cert II or equivalent and at least 1.5 years relevant post qualifications experience; or
  • At least 2 years relevant experience

Role description:

Forklift Driver

  • operating controls to align forklifts and raise and lower forks to stack and unstack items in packing warehouse and orchard shed facilities in a safe manner
  • operating electric and gas-powered forklifts
  • transporting goods to designated areas in warehouses and orchard shed facilities
  • ensuring goods are stored in correct areas and safely stacked so that they can be easily located when orders are made up
  • monitoring equipment operation visually through gauges and instruments and through computerised monitoring equipment
  • inspecting and controlling equipment to identify wear and damage
  • servicing and performing minor repairs and adjustments to forklifts

Personal attributes & role expectations:

You will be very happy to 'get your hands dirty' in both hot and cold / rainy conditions in the field (if applicable) and yet have the focus and attention to detail to ensure that your role is performed methodically and efficiently. In addition, it is essential that you are self-motivated, precise and capable of working on your own and with other people. Must like early starts and be able to demonstrate a high capability in time management. Successful applicants must be willing to work across multiple site locations as and when required.

Salary

Commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be discussed at interview stage.
