The opportunity

An opportunity has become available for a Senior Structural Technologist (Designer) within our Transport business in Melbourne.

You Will Have

  • Typically 8+ years experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Tekla and Revit Structures.
  • Experience with Computational Design software, specifically Grasshopper or Dynamo.
  • Advanced level of understanding of Tekla Structures or Revit Structures.
  • A good understanding of Parametric Structural Modelling practices.
  • A good understanding of Digital Engineering best practice for BIM deliverables and processes.
  • Exposure to different business models and industry best practice.
Main Activities And Responsibilities
  • Undertake bridge and civil structure modelling, for rail and civil projects. Help develop process-based workflows to aid in the production of BIM deliverables.
  • Comply with all role specific Health & Safety obligations
  • Help develop capability of Parametric model-based deliverables.
  • Liaise with other disciplines to ensure coordinated delivery of design. Coordinate with drafters for the production of the design drawings.
  • Assist in developing less experienced modellers in a collaborative team environment.
  • Manage and monitor the quality of work performed by others and promote a culture of technical excellence through mentoring and training less experienced drafters.
  • Manage the structural technologist aspects of projects of varying complexity and size, including planning and controlling of deliverables, resource management and maintaining communication between engineering and drafting staff on the project.
  • Possess appropriate time management skills and flexibility to allow for the management of a varying workload.
  • Actively assist colleagues in achieving improved client feedback results, enhance satisfaction and exceed client expectations.
