About The Role

  • Work on-site with one of Australia's leading energy operators
  • Heavy Industrial Engineering role supporting AGL’s Loy Yang Mine
  • Major Generation facility located 90 minutes outside of the Melbourne CBD

Responsible for managing the structural integrity of AGL’s Loy Yang’s Mine assets, the Mine Structural Engineer will also have accountability for the inspection and repair methodologies required to coordinate the overall structural and ISI program in broader support of the delivery of AGL’s Mine Strategic Plan.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering on time, on cost oversight of the structural and ISI program to enable completion of all planned activities in accordance with the mine business plan
  • Providing technical input through RCA and Engineering assessment processes and ensure actions are completed within in agreed timeframes
  • Developing engineering solutions that give the necessary consideration to potential hazards and risks, while contributing to the capital and operational budget process, specifically to develop and forecast the structural and ISI related expenditure for future budget periods
  • Assisting in providing solutions to structural and ISI related issues by conducting engineering investigations and devising engineering solutions for all allocated production-related assets
  • Being the source of technical support to the LYM Maintenance, Project and service providers during routine works and outages
About You What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Registered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia, or eligible for registration.
  • Demonstrated asset management and engineering experience in heavy industrial mining setting
  • Experience in conducting engineering investigations and devising engineering solutions for all allocated production-related assets.
  • Previous experience in contributing to the financial management and operational budgeting processes in a large-scale industrial setting.
