The Opportunity

The Faculty of Science has an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow for the School of Physics and Astronomy.

You will carry out internationally competitive research in atomic-scale structure determination via scanning transmission electron microscopy. You will bring to the fore your experience to work with large datasets and draw on such methods as phase retrieval, machine learning, and high-performance computing.

We are seeking a passionate and determined candidate with a doctoral qualification in physics or materials engineering, with experience in theoretical and computational physics. Experience either with simulation of scattering, diffraction and imaging with high energy electrons (or X-rays) or with experiments using an aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscope is desirable.
