We are excited to open the door for applicants to join our team at Strength Engineering. Our company is undergoing a growth phase with a forecasted list of exciting projects in the pipeline. We are seeking 3 Engineers of various skill sets as per below: 

1 x Structural and Civil Design Engineer (2+ years of experience)

1 x Structural and Civil Design Engineer - Team Leader (5+ years of experience)

1 x Senior Structural and Civil Design Engineer (10+ years of experience)

Each candidate will possess experience working on low to medium-rise structures covering projects across the residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial sectors. With a proven track record, well-established client-tell, and able to demonstrate their capabilities through a project portfolio and a technical skills interview. The ideal candidate will have a great attitude towards working in teams, the ability to collaborate with various project stakeholders, good communication skills, punctuality, professionalism, and good phone/email mannerism.

The role:

Structural and Civil Design Engineer (2+ years of experience)

Reporting to the senior design engineer, you will work in collaboration with the drafting team, client, and construction team to provide Structural and Civil documentation, Engineering reports and engage sub-contractors. Focusing mainly on Residential, industrial and commercial low-rise construction. You will demonstrate your ability to work independently with minimum guidance from the senior team, adhere to the design policy, deliver on time, and communicate efficiently to internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Project management of a broad range of structural and civil engineering projects, including estimates and planning, concept, preliminary, detailed design, and supervision.
  • Prepare structural/civil designs and documentation for residential building, industrial, institutional, utilities, and commercial projects. The work breakdown initially is likely to be 60% structural, 30% civil 10% building inspections.
  • Structural design for low to medium-rise residential, industrial, and commercial buildings. 
  • Civil design for low to medium-rise residential, industrial, and commercial buildings. 
  • Inspect buildings and structures and complete condition assessments.
  • Engage and liaise with clients, contractors, and sub-consultants.
  • Work collaboratively with the entire team and assist where required.
  • Oversee, assist and help train junior team members.
  • Ensure punctual delivery of tasks and design as per company policy.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or similar. (Essential)
  • 2+ years of Australian-based professional design experience. (Essential)
  • Proven Experience in structural design of low to medium-rise structures in timber, steel, cold form, concrete foundations, and earth retaining systems. (Essential)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the fundamentals of mechanics of materials, structural analysis, and design. (Essential)
  • Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Office, AutoCad, Revit, RAM Concept, Structural Toolkit, Rapt, OSD4W, Robot, and Spacegass analysis. (Highly recommended)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (Essential)
  • Ability to write technical professional reports. (Highly recommended)
  • Ability to work in Australia. (Essential)

Reporting to the senior design engineer, managing your own projects, and supervising the design team you will work in collaboration with all stakeholders to provide Structural and Civil documentation, Engineering reports, and engage sub-contractors. Focusing mainly on residential, industrial, and commercial low-rise construction. You will demonstrate your ability to work independently with minimum guidance from the senior team, adhere to the design policy, deliver on time, and communicate efficiently to internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Project management of a broad range of Structural and Civil engineering projects, including estimates and planning, concept, preliminary, detailed design, and supervision.
  • Supervise the design team and ensure project delivery is on time and within scope.

Acting for the best interest of the company, managing your own projects, supervising the junior team, you will work in collaboration with all stakeholders to provide Structural and Civil documentation, Engineering reports, and engage sub-contractors. Focusing mainly on residential, industrial, and commercial low-rise construction. You will demonstrate your ability to work independently with minimum guidance from the senior team, adhere to the design flowchart policy, deliver on time, and communicate efficiently to internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Project management of a broad range of Structural and Civil engineering projects, including estimates and planning, concept, preliminary, detailed design, and supervision.
  • Supervise the design team and ensure project delivery is on time and within scope.
